An EAT! Vancouver Highlight: “Celebrity Chef Throwdown”

EAT! Vancouver is just around the corner and this year, the show is bigger and better than ever with a full week of programming, food provided by more than 250 restaurants and the chance to meet some of Canada’s most renowned chefs.

One particular event that you may want to pencil into your calendar is the Celebrity Chef Throwdown happening Friday May 1st at 8pm, in which Cactus Club Chef Rob Feenie, the Georgia Straight’s food editor Carolyn Ali, Global TV’s Sophie Lui and myself will judge a fast-paced culinary fight to the finish.

The contenders? None other than local pastry darling Jackie Ellis of Beaucoup Bakery, Food Network’s best known baker Anne Olson and Cafe Medina’s talented executive chef Jonathan Chovancek.

Another noteworthy EAT! feature is the intimate VIP Experience in which certain guests will get to meet celebrity chefs like Toronto-based Susur Lee and Top Chef Canada judge Mark McEwan.

EAT! Vancouver will also feature a craft beer alley where R&B brewing co, powell street craft brewery and many more local favourites will be pouring samples.
