Are Nut Mylks “The Next Big Thing” in The Vancouver Food Scene?

One sip of Nama Juice Bar’s date-sweetened almond mylk and you might just be hooked. At least I was. Especially with a big scoop of coconut whipped cream on top. It’s so fabulous, I’m thinking of officially switching my holiday drink of choice from egg or almond nog to this small-batch, locally made, dairy-free beverage. And to think it is totally healthy.

Nama’s main focus, however, is their cold pressed juices. If you have a sweet-tooth, you will be a fan. View their full menu here.

If you’re wondering about the decadent-looking treats piled up on the right…they’re Pink Spatula’s party-ready vanilla bean and peppermint Macamallows (macaron + marshmallows) made in Mission, BC. The next cronut? You never know. Look out, Dominique Ansel!

You won’t find any preservatives, additives or artificial flavours in Marshmallow Maven Tina Bacon’s “sweet pillows of gooey goodness”. She’s passionate about real ingredients. Here’s where to buy her Pink Spatula goodies.

And here are some tips on how to make perfect coconut whipped cream…the perfect holiday beverage topping.
