Visit websiteLocal craft brewery whose cool factor transcends Vancouver. Its bright, minimalist space is an ideal backdrop for simple avocado-on-toast-style lunches, cold glasses of beer (try the IPA) or expertly-poured lattes (currently made using Heart Coffee Roasters espresso). And from 11:30-3:30 Monday to Friday, find a local food truck serving more lunch options out front.
Budgies Burritos
44 Kingsway | 604-874-5408 $ | Vegetarian Tacos
|
Visit websiteYour mom might call Budgies grungy, but residents of the neighbourhood love this cozy, colourful spot for its cheap and cheerful Mexican food -- all of which is vegetarian. Sub the cheese and sour cream for guacamole or dairy-free cheese to make it vegan. Veggie ground round and tofurkey is also on the menu. The Jamedog Burrito is delicious with garlic roasted potatoes. Tacos, tortilla soup, quesadillas, beer and cider are also available.
