Head here for the view, which is unlike any other in the city at the peak of Vancouver’s Grouse Mountain. A visit to The Observatory begins with a ride up the mountain in the gondola. Once you’ve arrived, you’ll be treated to fine dining that celebrates British Columbia’s bounty and a wine list that was awarded Wine Spectator’s “Best of Award of Excellence”. The restaurant is both Ocean Wise certified and a member of the Green Table Network.

Arms Reach Bistro

107c – 4390 Gallant Ave | 604-929-7442 $$$ | West Coast

Take a mini road trip out to Deep Cove and enjoy the relaxed semi-traditional cuisine that Arms Reach Bistro is known for. Serving comfort food in a beautiful setting, this neighbourhood restaurant is a popular date night spot for all ages. Dishes include crab cakes with saffron aioli, hummus & dukkah and my grandma's favourite, the coconut curry mussels. Locals know to come early to snag a seat at the window for a view of the water.

La Regalade

2232 Marine Dr | 604-921-2228 $$$ | French

@laregalade_bist | Visit website

This traditional bistro in West Vancouver has been serving rustic French fare -- including classics like escargot, beef bourguignon and roasted duck -- for more than a decade. Led by Chef Alain Rayé, whose culinary contributions were recognized by Vancouver Magazine with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013, La Regalade is truly worth the trek to the North Shore. In the summer, the courtyard patio is an ideal spot to enjoy a glass of French or B.C. wine and one of their classic desserts. Given the restaurant's tiny footprint, reservations are recommended.
