If there's one place in Vancouver that’s synonymous with waffles, it’s Café Medina. Made with yeast-leavened dough, their trademark liège waffles are complimented by a variety of toppings, from quince cranberry compote to milk chocolate lavender. With notoriously long lineups on the weekends, it’s best to go early or else place an order to go.

After spending six month perfecting their waffle dough, you can trust Chambar’s liège waffles won’t disappoint. Using pearl sugar imported from Belgium along with real vanilla beans and a generous amount of butter, their dough is made fresh daily. Both sweet and savoury varieties are available until 3 pm every day.

A tiny dessert café in Chinatown, Crackle Crème makes authentic liège waffles fresh to order. Delicious whether served plain or with fresh homemade ice cream, these waffles are even better when topped with their “adult nutella”, made with Baileys, salted caramel, ground hazelnut and chocolate. A must try.
