“Chewies” to Host Oyster Shucking Competition Fundraiser for Autism

There’s a fun fundraiser for Autism coming up, and if you’re an oyster fan you’ll be especially interested in supporting.

Chewies Oyster Bar is teaming up with Bikers for Autism for an oyster shucking competition which will put some of Vancouver’s top talent head to head. There will be 16 competitors total, and they’ll be competing for a prize of $1000 along with a round-trip flight to anywhere in North America.

Four-time Juno Award Winner Prevail will host the event and two bands, the Tim Stars Trio and EIDjLoco, will provide live music. Other fun features include a Red Truck tap takeover, a Southern style seafood boil and a Lords of Gastown custom bike photo-booth.

The oyster-shucking fundraiser will take place on Sunday, May 24th at Chewies Hastings Street location and tickets, available online, are just $20.
