On a hot day, how about swapping your afternoon tea for an earl grey and lavender smoothie? This floral flavoured blended drink is my first recipe contribution for Vega’s Recipe Center. Here are the details…
First, make a tray of earl grey ice cubes. Boil some water, steep your favourite tea (I love whistler-based Namaste) and then let them chill in the freezer for a few hours.
When ready, chuck about six of those cubes into your Vitamix or blender, along with a frozen banana, a half cup of light coconut milk, one cup of chilled earl grey tea, one tablespoon of hemp hearts for a hit of plant based protein, 1 scoop of Vega One Nutritional Shake French Vanilla (this adds sweetness, too), cinnamon, lavender buds and a pinch of himalayan salt. Garnish with a handful of coconut ribbons (I love them toasted) and voila.
