MARKET by Jean-Georges invites you to own your age, reap the rewards, and celebrate your birthday in style. Just as wine gets better with age, so do the benefits with MARKET’s exclusive “Flash Your Age” promotion. From September 1, 2014 through until August 31, 2015, birthday guests are treated to an age equivalent discount on the entire food bill for your table of up to four people to enjoy.
With that in mind, what better than to splash out on a dinner of Jean-Georges signature favourites. Starting in September, Chef de Cuisine Montgomery Lau will be introducing the restaurant’s fall menu inspired by Jean-Georges’ “greatest hits” with fresh, locally produced ingredients emphasizing comfort and creativity–including new flavour combinations that explore spices from other regions, all while remaining close to home.
When Chef Montgomery was asked what he would choose to have for his birthday dinner, this is what he suggested. “My ideal birthday dinner at MARKET would definitely include the Minted Lamb Loin, Pan Roasted Sunchokes, Swiss Chard and Red Curry Emulsion.” The Lamb is topped with and a shallot mint purée with chili crumbs for texture, and served with Montgomery’s favourite B.C. vegetables. The Red Curry Emulsion is a fine balance mixture of dried spices, chilies, fresh ginger, lemon grass, and galangal; fragrant and rich with a touch of heat. “To go along with the lamb, I would order a bottle of Burrowing Owl ‘Athene’ Cabernet Syrah, which shows the great qualities of the south Okanagan. With hints of black pepper and smoked paprika, this wine is a perfect compliment to this fall dish.”
“Flash Your Age” offers are limited daily and advance reservations are required. The offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or special prix fixe menus.
