Even if you’re not a big football fan, The Super Bowl is always a fun excuse to get together with friends and indulge in a rainbow of appetizers. If you’re on the hook to contribute a dish this year, here are a few ideas.
Cauliflower Buffalo Wings are a favourite for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. With its meaty texture, cauliflower is a great substitute for meat. And it’s an ideal, absorbent vessel for your favourite hot sauce (mmm, Frank’s). Take this appy a step further by serving it on pizza with a blue cheese sauce.
Life-Affirming Warm Nacho Dip by Oh She Glows (as demonstrated on CTV Morning Live) is, of course, entirely plant-based and filled with nutritious ingredients. As you dip, don’t feel guilty for loading up each tortilla chip to the max.
Baked veggie chips are another big winner. With a coating of olive oil and a generous sprinkling of sea salt, they are just as addictive as their junk food counterpart, yet much healthier. My favourite veggies to transform into chips are yams, beets and turnips. And FYI a mandolin is the key here for easy slicing.
