Homemade Organic Milk Soft Serve Soon Available in Gastown

Soft Peaks Ice Cream Grand Opening is February 5th at 12:00pm

After a successful soft opening, Soft Peaks Ice Cream will reopen their doors with full operations at 12:00pm on Thursday, February 5, 2015. Located in Gastown, they will offer organic milk soft serve, a first of its kind in Vancouver. The homemade recipe offers a deliciously fresh flavour, and is paired with premium toppings like Fraser Valley honeycomb.

Brothers Dan & Ken Kim have a passion for ice cream, and both left their careers in the business world to follow their dream of opening Soft Peaks. A childhood of worldly culinary experiences and extensive travel made the pair foodies from a young age. Their venture began with years of dreaming, planning, and the determined pursuit of the perfect recipe.

Soft Peaks ice cream is made from scratch every day using fresh Avalon Organic milk. It’s lightly sweetened, then churned to a rich soft serve consistency. With a base of milk, the fat content of their ice cream is less than 6%, as opposed to more typically cream-heavy recipes that average 15%. The result is an all-natural dessert that’s at once thick, creamy, and refreshing. A unique array of premium toppings have been crafted into menu items, like yuzu marmalade, organic maple syrup with Himalayan pink salt, or a piece of fresh Fraser Valley honeycomb. Prices range from $4.00-$6.75 depending on size and topping.

The historic BC Market Company building at 25 Alexander Street is Soft Peaks’ new home. The 1,000 square foot, two-level space was designed with a rustic modern aesthetic. Clean white subway tiles are balanced with natural woods and polished concrete, and a wall installation of vintage milk caps adds a sense of history.

Soft Peaks will be openWednesdaySunday weekly from 12:00pm-9:00pm. Visit their website or follow them on Facebook,Twitter, or Instagram for more information.
