How To Make Pretty Pickled Veggies

How pretty are pickled veggies? Not only are they a sweet and personal hostess gift for the holidays, they’re delicious and they last for a looong time in the fridge.

When I set out to gather ingredients and materials for this project, I knew attractive jars were key. There was only one spot to go: Delish General Store. I first discovered this sweet local business at a craft fair. Not long after, they opened their first brick and mortar in the heart of Granville Island. Head here for a plethora of holiday gifts including an impressive collection of unique European glass jars, vintage cookware, bar tools and so much more.

Of course, the veggies were found at Granville Island’s bustling public market. It was a convenient one-stop-shop.

Here are the recipes I used as inspiration for my pickled veggies. I ended up going quite off-course (as you’ll be able to tell from the pictures), but you really can’t go wrong. Try a variety of whole spices and herbs to personalize and beautify your pickles.

Pickled cucumber
Pickled green onions
