Is there a type of dinner more magical than the one held outdoors in warm spring or summer air? If al fresco dinners are your favourite, you should note that one of BC’s best dinner party cooks, the team at Joy Road Catering, is now taking reservations for the season — and they sell out fast.
With Penticton’s epic Gods Mountain Estate as a setting, I’d consider these dinners “bucket list” caliber events. You can dine with Joy Road on Sundays this May at their long table in the vineyard for $85 per person. They’ll be cooking with Similkameen asparagus, BC spot prawns, wild foraged nettles and watercress, along with their favourite local wines.
Joy Road hosts Thursday and Sunday dinners throughout the summer and their “cuisine du terroir” (that’s food made with BC ingredients flavoured in part by the beautiful local soil they’re grown in) really is worth trying.
They also cater Okanagan weddings and exclusive events, in case you’re currently on the hunt.
