Formerly, Red Door Pan Asian Grill, South Granville’s newly renovated eatery is a casual spot suitable for shoppers, sports fans (TVs are on), and families. The menu is reminiscent of Earls or Cactus Club, listing a slew of interesting salads, meaty entrees and bar snacks.
As tempting as Auntie Erin’s Chicken Club was, the House Made Veggie Burger — made with quinoa, egg, and almonds — sounded too good to miss.
Twenty five minutes later, with the mammoth creation before me, I almost understood why the solo lunch order had taken so long. The hulking one-and-a-half inch thick patty was crammed with goodness, topped with BC Farmstead white cheddar and spread with caramelized onions. On a grilled, flaky bun with house made chipotle mayo, it was an unexpected treat.
