Nut Tree Cafe: North Vancouver’s Newest Vegan Restaurant

There’s a new hidden gem of an organic vegan cafe in North Van.

You’ll find five-month old Nut Tree Cafe tucked away just east of the 2nd Narrows Bridge at 2110 Old Dollarton Road, and if you’re craving something healthy, this is the spot.

Their menu, which includes raw and cooked plant-based options, features sandwiches like the ELT (that’s roasted marinated eggplant, lettuce and tomato) and the avocado with sauerkraut, olives and nut cheese, as well as, stews, salads, breads, sushi and, of course, desserts.

Nut Tree’s housemade nutritious tonics are unique menu items. Try the rejuvelac, which is water fermented in quinoa or rye or the lemonade, with lemon juice, rejuvelac and agave.

If you’re looking to stock up on unique plant-based ingredients, you might find them here. Several types of nut cheese, dehydrated flax seed bread and lots more are on offer. As for dessert, there are plenty of options like chocolate mousse, coconut rice pudding and my favourite healthy chocolates by Glow Goodies.
