Tantalus Vineyards Announces Eight New Spring Releases

Tantalus anticipates their Spring wine release all winter long as it signals the start of longer days and warmer weather – and the kick off to a new growing season!

From the inaugural release of their 2013 Traditional Method Blanc de Noir to exciting changes to our wine club there is lots going on at Tantalus this Spring.

The team at Tantalus hopes you enjoy their latest offerings as much as they enjoyed making them and we look forward to seeing many of you at the winery this year.


NEW! 2013 Traditional Method Blanc de Noir: Two and a half years in the making, the inaugural release of our Blanc de Noir sparkling wine comes from a single block of 1985 Pinot Noir. A pale rose petal pink, the wine pours with a persistent bead and mouth-filling mousse. Enticing aromas of sun-baked red apple, fresh oyster with orchard blossom and almond biscotti. A rich mouthfeel is balanced by flavours of refreshing gooseberry and crisp pink grapefruit flesh. A wine for today’s celebrations or to watch evolve over the coming years. $27.74

2015 Rosé: Amber pink in colour, mouth-watering strawberry and watermelon notes leap from the glass. A juicy palate of lush berry and cherry with ripe citrus and caramelized grapefruit. This 60/40 blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier is our go to wine for the summer. $19.04

2015 Riesling: A wonderfully juxtaposed wine, poised on the edge with both a luscious texture and lively acidity. Enticing orchard fruit and wild flower aromatics. Intense citrus character underpinned by notes of cardamom, roasted pineapple and quince. The finish shows classic Tantalus intensity and focus with mouth-watering length. $19.91

2013 Old Vines Riesling: A wine made to purely reflect the fruit, the site and the season each year; we feel the 2013 is an exceptional vintage. Aromas of warm beeswax, Granny Smith apple and citrus peel. A focused palate with notes of preserved lemon and grapefruit. Gorgeous hints of minerality and marmalade pair beautifully with a bright textured acidity and a long finish. $30.35

2013 Old Vines Riesling Natural Brut: Handmade in the traditional method from a single block of 38-year-old Riesling plantings. The wine showcases delicate bubbles and a fine mousse. Lemon, lime and wet stone on the nose with a lush palate of grapefruit flesh and crisp apple. Classic Champagne character paired alongside concentrated Riesling flavours. 150 cases made. $34.70

2013 Juveniles Pinot Noir: A brilliant ruby red – brambleberry pie, wild flowers and dusty baking spice envelope the nose. Crushed cranberry, wild berry and plum make for a juicy and bright palate. A silky finish with just a hint of French oak. Approachable and fruit-forward. $21.65

2013 Pinot Noir: Our flagship Pinot. Deep and brooding, the 2013 vintage offers a lovely contrast of sweet berry and lifted floral aromas with anise and earthy mushroom. A delicious medley of black plum, chokecherry and dark chocolate is supported by a long and structured finish. An age-worthy wine. $26.00
