On early morning runs, I often hit stretches where the scent of baking is so thick, I slow down.  A bakery must be near.  If only a smell could satisfy a craving (I often wish this).

As I jog, the baked goods stay on my mind…and I wonder if it’s a single batch emitting that heavenly aroma, or if it’s a mixture of everything?  …muffins, cinnamon buns, cookies, and scones.

One morning, I got home and thought it would nice to have that smell in my apartment, especially on a lazy Saturday.  Pizza dough was the easiest recipe I could find on google, and fortunately it worked for my cinnamon buns (which I guessed would be the most intense smell of the above listed baked goods).

If you paid attention during the great movie, Julie & Julia, you know the secret to many delicious things: butter.

Lather it all over your dough.  When you think you’re done, add more.  Then load up with cinnamon and sugar, roll, and you’re done.

Don’t they almost look better raw?  So soft and moist!

If I was a Celiac, I would bake these buns simply for the home smell!
