To Die For Breakfast: Chocolate Berry Oatmeal Recipe

This morning after a chilly visit to the dog park (my sweet Mexican baby who is still getting used to this Vancouver weather was SHIVERING despite her shepherd’s coat!) I treated myself to a steaming 49th Parallel latte from Commune Cafe. Of course, I brought my eco-friendly Joco Cup (I am obsessed) because apparently, espresso beverages in paper cups lose some of their flavour. Have you noticed this?

Here are this morning’s oatmeal and smoothie recipes:

Oatmeal Ingredients:

Oatmeal (I use 1/2 c. oats, 1 c. water)
1 plop of chocolatey nut mixture (which formed at the bottom of my jar after making this Oh She Glows recipe)
1/3 c. frozen BC raspberries
1 tbsp. goji berries
1 tbsp. cacao nibs
2 tbsp. slivered almonds
1 sliced banana
1 tsp. cinnamon
Splash almond milk or light coconut milk
Sprinkle of Himalayan salt

Not-too-sweet Smoothie Ingredients:

1 massive handful organic spinach
3/4 c. frozen BC blueberries
1 tsp. chlorella
1 tsp. maca powder (from Eternal Abundance)
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. Vega Omega Oil
1 tbsp. almond butter
3/4 c. almond milk (and maybe a bit of water if your blender needs help)
Drizzle with coconut peanut butter
