Here in Vancouver, we are well into food truck season, and each year there are new fun concepts gracing our streets. One to watch for is C’est Si Bon, a French street food operation from experienced pastry chef and Montepellier native Thibault Champel and Greg Zasempa.
Thibault, who handles the food side of things, makes everything from scratch, even the ciabatta and focaccia sandwich breads. Croissants are also used for sandwich-making, and they are buttery, crispy perfection made fresh daily. Bigger entrees like Beef Bourguignon and Brochettes for Poulet are both under $10.
Of course, crepes are also on the menu (all under $6) and they are incredible. Try the hefty, sweet and salty Nutella & Banana version, made with house made hazelnutty spread and lots of ripe bananas.
I love that C’est Si Bon is focused on sourcing locally whenever possible. Their meats are free-range, non-medicated and their eggs are free range too, from Maple Hills Farm in Abbotsford.
C’est Si Bon will be roaming the Vancouver streets this summer, so check Street Food App for their location. And if you’d like a French lunch catered at your party or office, these are your guys.
