Vancouver’s Top Bartenders Set To Face-Off in Julep Competition at The Deighton Cup

One of Vancouver’s swankiest summer events is just around the corner, and if you’re into mint juleps, this one’s for you.

The Deighton Cup is all about dressing up to the nines, horse races and getting a little tipsy. At this year’s event, the third annual Cocktail Jockey Mixology contest will take place up in the exclusive skybox, where 14 of the city’s finest bartenders will compete to make the best julep for 50 guests.

Competitors include Yonah Sweetapple (New Oxford), Michael Greely (George), Tristen Ley (Vancouver Club), Cam Brown (Blackbird) Kevin Brownlee (AnnaLena), Sean McGuigan (Clough Club), Buck Friend (Clough Club), Jayce Noal (Clive’s Classic), Katie Ingram (UVA), Lauren Maxwell (Chambar) and Kelsey Ramage (Oakwood).

Lunch boxes from Cocktails and Canapes will available to soak up the alcohol. Enjoy them on the ‘field of dreams’, a gorgeous grassy picnic area where you can also play games of horseshoes.

The 7th annual Deighton Cup takes place on Saturday, July 25th and tickets are available at Feel great about the splurge as partial event proceeds will be donated to Variety, the children’s charity.
