VIFF 2010: Brightlight Pictures & Technicolor Party at CinCin

Thanks to their vast array of Italian canapes and mountainous cheese piles conveniently placed throughout the dining room, CinCin has once again hosted the Vancouver International Film Festival’s most glamorous, food-filled event.  Here are the twelves bites that sidetracked my conversations with talented guests, many of whom are featured in this year’s movie lineup.

Why save the best for last?  Let’s begin with dessert.

1.  Chocolate Succe

2. Tiramisu

3. Raspberry Tart with lemon filling

4. Pistachio MacaronSpeaking of macarons, have you tried Pierre Hermé‘s?

Now onto the savories, which were pumped out of CinCin’s kitchen – a tireless, well-oiled machine.

5. Olive Oil-Poached Lobster Tail with celery root butter & liquorish root

6.  Beef Tenderloin on crispy polenta with late summer peach mostardo
7. Mini Pizza with potato, taleggio, rosemary, & summer truffles
8. Lamb Sausage Tortellini with pinenuts, raisins, & mint
9. Crispy Artichoke with parsley & capers
10. Duck Salami with goat cheese mousse & pear mostardo
11. Bacalau Fritti with piquillo peppers & saffron aioli
12. Seared Tuna Crudo on a semolina pancake with Canadian caviar

13. Quail eggs baked in spicy tomato sauce with olives & grilled bread

Do you see how I get ‘Vancouver International Film Festival’ confused with ‘Vancouver International Food Festival’?

Thanks to Brightlight PicturesTechnicolorCinCin, & The Promotion People for the memorable soiree of sampling!

Also, thanks to Oliver & Lilly’s for the striped dress with ruching, which allowed for constant grazing.
