Owners of “The Acorn” Are Set To Open New Restaurant “The Arbor” This Summer

Shira Blustein and Scott Lewis, owners of Vancouver’s celebrated vegetarian restaurant, The Acorn, have secured a location for their next big project, The Arbor. Located at 3941 Main Street, just a few doors down from their current home, this new eatery will offer fast-casual vegetarian and vegan food for breakfast lunch and dinner.

The ArborWith the addition of The Arbor, this eclectic stretch of Main Street will become even more veggie-forward, joining neighbours like MeeT on Main, Grub, Shanti’s Curries and East is East. Without a doubt, Shira and Scott’s new concept will become a new go-to for all Vancouver foodies, omnivore and herbivore alike.

Paul McCloskey, formerly of Farmers Apprentice and more recently Royal Dinette, has joined The Arbor team as a co-owner, manager and wine expert, meaning we can expect a solid beverage program with a sneaky wine list. Also on the roster is Chef Robert Clarke from The Acorn whose plan is to put a spin on classic comfort foods, like mac and cheese and veggie burgers (think big mac-style) while staying true to The Acorn’s philosophy of avoiding processed ingredients and using only in-house recipes. And for those looking to forego the fryer, an entire section of the menu will be devoted to fresh, simple, and delicious items ready to be enjoyed either on their gorgeous back patio or on the road to go. Chef Clarke and his team will offer small snack plates, as well as entrees, and much like The Acorn, there will be a focus on sourcing locally from top quality suppliers (including potato farmers for all the french fries they’ll be dishing out).
