Something hot pink caught my eye while browsing a tidy row of refrigerated products at Organic Acres Market (3603 Main St.), a reliable source for small-batch, Vancouver-made goods.
The vibrant item was Spread’em Kitchen Co.’s Cashew Beet & Balsamic spread. Its fluorescent shade appeared unreal, but the seven simple ingredients (mainly beets, cashews, sunflower seeds, olive oil and balsamic) left no doubt about the product’s authenticity.
